Bokashi is a Japanese word that means "fermented organic matter." It can be used as a soil amendment to increase the nutrient level and microbial diversity of the soil for planting.

All Seasons Bokashi is used as:

Compost starter in home composting efforts
Compost starter in large-scale composting operations
Fermentation starter
Soil conditioner
Beneficial microbial inoculate

All Seasons Bokashi can be used as a microbial inoculant in situations where a liquid inoculant would be less effective such as in composting food waste and in compost toilets.

Usage:
Household Applications
Use All Seasons Bokashi when composting kitchen/household wastes using the All Seasons Indoor Composter.

In a kitchen compost bucket, sprinkle Bokashi directly on top of kitchen food waste and close the lid. It is very important to cover the entire surface of food waste with Bokashi. When added, Bokashi will begin a fermentation process that will neutralize odors, increase the mineral content and prepare food waste to become high quality compost. Repeat the process, until the bucket is full.

You can also sprinkle in house plants one or two times per month.

Bokashi is fast and effective	June 4, 2008

My cat would go under the deck. She felt safe under there. But she also would "go" under the deck, and an odor developed. There was no access for humans, so I thought, "I'll try putting Bokashi there and see if it helps." So I spread it on the deck and swept it into the cracks in the deck's surface. I had confidence Bokashi would work but had no idea it would take every bit of odor away in 24 hours. Astonishing and wonderful. I also love using it in the kitchen, of course. My indoor and outdoor plants are grateful.

This innoculant works great for my Bokashi system, it really does make a regular compost pile HOT (still steaming in October) and I've been able to compost all scraps from my in home daycare over the winter in Iowa (using a home made insulated outdoor collection site when my buckets get full). The outdoor collection site has stayed warm all winter! This website ships fast and this 2.7 lb bag goes a long ways.
