I love the Bokashi system... The container is stylish, easy to use and stacks well. It's the best composting system I've seen, I love it! I would say that you can get by without the $$ container with the spout, I have 3 regular $$ spouted containers I bought here and my one home made one keeps up with the $$ ones just fine... get two 5 gallon buckets, drill drain holes in the bottom of one of them and "nest" the buckets. Buy some $7 universal screw on lids. Not as pretty, but functional. If you need something that looks nice these containers are the way to go, however. I still buy the premade bokashi here though... Very convienent!
